In addition to helping to haul trains for the Seaboard and others, they wanted one of their own.  It wasnt until 1947 that AC\u0026amp;F finally caught up to the order and delivered the five-car lightweight \"Old Dominion.\"  The streamlined consist included four coaches and a cafe lounge car.  Finished in a special paint scheme of gray, blue and gold, the train made a daily round trip between Richmond and Washington DC.  Despite the fanfare however, the train lost money from day one and only remained in service for a few short months.  Nevertheless, we found the streamliner too pretty to pass up!  Rewrite a bit of history on your layout and add a matching baggage and observation to complete the train.
