Based on the design of the prototypical DIFCO Operating Dump car, the Operating Log Car has a higher stake-body side – perfect for transporting and delivering larger construction loads such as pipes or logs (log load included). Cars of similar design have been used by many railroads in MOW service, as well as on shortlines and logging railroads.
