Sand and gravel products may not be glamorous, they are material needed everywhere. Street and road maintenance, new building construction, and even railroads need sand for locomotive traction and gravel for ballast! Cripple Creek Sand & Gravel is a no-nonsense provider of aggregates.
The basics: This is an industrial Quonset hut design featuring a weathered stone base, metal corrugated roof, and a corrugated façade attached to the stone entrance. The building has a compact 7 3/8 by 7 inch footprint, and rises 5 inches.
The interior and exterior lighting requires a 4.5-volt power supply sold separately (Menards SKU nos. 279-4061/4361, 4062/4362, or 4050). Power may be applied through a rear tabletop plug in.
Why you need this: This is a good design for a small business structure on the "undeveloped" part of your railroad town. Building colors are stone grey and aluminum for the roof. Brown and gray signage is on the front as well as on the brown façade.
The brown and gray livery is mirrored on the vintage die-cast cab-over dump truck fits right into the vibe that this is a frugal place to do business!
Building a complete scene that tells a story will this will be easy! Just find an empty spot, and pile some O scale ballast here, and a pile of sand out back, and you are in business. This would also be a good companion to previously released American Materials structures!
